The Ungraduation Celebration

It all began at the China Harbor on Lake Union on Friday night. Tysha was trying to be thrifty and discovered a coupon to the China Harbor. Since the China Harbor is within walking distance from our "flat" we thought we should give it a whirl. Well... now we know why they send coupons. We unwittingly became second hand particpants of the Terry Acena retirement dinner party. It was complete with off key singing and strange homemade lyrics to familiar tunes... we felt like extras in a movie. The highlight of the meal was when Tysha leaned over and said, "These aren't chow mein noodles. They're spaghetti noodles!"

The food was NOT good. If you live in the Seattle area DO NOT EAT at the China Harbor. Our stomachs were churning in protest when we left. But it did make us laugh, especially Terry's party.

Why Tysha wears her jacket backwards is a mystery to me.

After the China Harbor fiasco we decided to celebrate with style and drove to Ballard to the charming Cupcake Royale. Yum! Yum! I ordered my typical standby favorite, the "Coconut Bunny". Mmmmmmmmmmm coconut. Tysha orderd the signature cupcake simply named "Kate".

Be sure to notice Tysha's sporting her Antioch University t-shirt. She decided she needed a souvenir from graduate school since she wasn't leaving with a diploma.

We enjoyed a great game of Skip-Bo together as we nibbled on our cupcakes. If you're ever in Ballard and want to have a celebration with style we highly recommend the Cupcake Royale.

Congratulations to my wife Tysha! To have the courage to make what has been a very, very difficult decision. But, one that will move us that much more quickly towards other new adventures...
