For my sister, Rachel, I made a Family Home Evening kit. I call it "Short & Sweet" as I had the toddler set in mind when I created it. A few posts back, I mentioned how sometimes with little ones it is challenging to get a lesson and activity together and sometimes we improvise since we have a baby. The important thing is, we always set this time aside for our family to spend time together. But it is also great, as the little ones grow, to be able to share and teach good messages to our children, as well as enjoy fun activities together.

My sister has a 20-month old son, Jackson, and a baby girl coming this July...which means...she is a busy momma! I decided to put together this little kit so that Family Home Evening can be a no-brainer once in a while. I made 12 little lessons. Each includes a couple of children's primary songs and a couple of short verses of scripture related to a picture on the front of the card. Then, there are suggestions for activities related to that particular lesson. The lessons should be no longer than 5-10 minutes--perfect for a toddler's attention span!

There are also additional misc. ideas for activities as well as a recipe for homemade play-doh. There is a puzzle I made for Jackson to use with some of the lessons, and then, of course, there is a flannel board with a few cut-outs to get them started with story-board fun. Oh, yes, also some bubbles. You can never go wrong with bubbles!

I sure hope you like your FHE kit, Rachel. It truly was made Especially For You: to make your life a little bit easier! I hope your whole family enjoys it! Even more exciting, for me, is that I get to deliver this to you in person! I can hardly wait to see you and spend all of next week together!

LOVE THAT!!!
You are awesome! I need a kit like this. I have never owned a flannel board - are they very hard to make?
You would make a GREAT homeschool mama Tysha! You are amazing and inspiring!

you truly are so prolific! Adorable ideas!
I think this is such a great idea. So often we end up running errands or doing some other chore and calling it FHE just because we think Simon doesn't really know the difference, but you have some great ideas. I should make one for us.
That was a really sweat thing to do Tysha! What a kind and thoughtful sister you are. Your family is very lucky.
What a great idea! Rachel, you lucky girl!
HI Tysha-
Thanks for saying hi again!
OH my heavens! What a great idea for FHE. I need one of those! Greg and I have been having this EXACT dilemma lately! Toddlers are so hard.
So about the photoshoot thing, SERIOUSLY? haha. I don't know if I dare! I have never shot anyone besides my family... We could try it out, but I'm not promising anything great! :)
